The commune’s relief is mostly hills and mountains having a small area of river meadow, by Mures River, in the North and in the West.
The altitude is between 200 m and 800 m.
Two watercourses cross the commune’s territory. The most important is Romosului River and the second one is Vaideiului Valley. Both are affluents of Mures River.
In the North of the commune’s territory, 5 km from Romos center village, there is the European Road E79.
The nearest railway stations: Orastie and Geoagiu.
The center village of the commune, Romos, is 39 km from Deva, the capital of Hunedoara County.
